Julian Hardman

My name is Julian and I am a ski instructor who lives in New Zealand and have been instructing in Japan since 2017. I have close to 50 seasons of ski teaching experience and have taught in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA, and Austria.

I am passionate about skiing and providing professional and guest centred lessons which allow guests to achieve their goals while having fun and enjoying all aspects of the skiing lifestyle. I love teaching all levels of skiing from those who have never been on snow before to others who are very advanced in their skiing. We all have something to lean!

When I am not teaching skiing I enjoy backcountry skiing with my wife Ella and 11 year old daughter Ha zel, who are also in Japan with me.

In New Zealand we also ski but am working as a school teacher who specialises in helping teachers who have students in their classes who have extra learning and behaviour needs.

Winkel Village the Otaru area are very special places which myself and my family look forward to coming to visit and work each winter.

Masafumi Takahashi

I not only teach skiing but also share insights about the lifestyle of Sapporo and Otaru. In my free time, I enjoy going backcountry skiing with my skiing friends. After retiring as a mogul skier, I traveled throughout Asia and the Middle East as a backpacker, and even worked as a diving guide in Egypt.
